Nightlife is fragmented across a dozen different apps, websites, and word-of-mouth recommendations, with no single place to find what's happening near you, how busy it is, and whether your friends are already there. Nyx set out to solve that.

Research & Insights

Explored the post-COVID nightlife landscape and identified key user pain points around venue discovery, safety, and social coordination. Research revealed that users struggled with fragmented information across multiple apps, had anxiety around safety near venues, and wanted a way to see where friends were going before committing to a plan.

Final Design

Designed a mobile app in Figma featuring a live map with real-time busyness data, a curated explore page with personalized recommendations, a friends layer to see where your crew is, and a safety mode that shows nearby reported incidents. The app is built around a dark, high-energy visual design using a purple and pink gradient palette that fits naturally into the nightlife context.
